The Geneva Industrial Development Agency (IDA) has announced an open call for individuals interested in joining its board starting Oct. 1, following the upcoming term expiry of Rick Bley, the IDA’s long-serving vice-chair.
The board expressed its appreciation for Bley’s contribution and stated that his diverse experience and valuable insights will be missed.
The Geneva IDA, a New York State Public Authority, primarily offers tax incentives to stimulate economic development projects that can result in long-term economic gains for the city. Board members are expected to review all financial assistance applications, ensure ethical and efficient resource usage, and monitor compliance with state regulations.
Applications to join the IDA board are open until Aug. 27, and interested candidates can apply through the city’s official website. All board members are appointed to a seven-year term and serve on a committee that typically meets 2-4 times annually.
