  • Staff Report

Schuyler County Administrator, Fonda Chronis, will be leaving his position on Friday, July 28, less than two years after taking up the role.

This decision comes about two weeks after Chronis was placed on administrative leave for undisclosed reasons.

According to officials, the decision was mutual. During his tenure, Chronis noted significant achievements including the initiation of a new ambulance service, the NY Forward initiative, the ARPA facade program, and the creation of stricter fiscal guidelines.

Legislative Chair Carl Blowers, who has been overseeing the administrative duties since Chronis’s placement on administrative leave, expressed gratitude for Chronis’s contributions, wishing him well in his future endeavors. No information has yet been released regarding the permanent replacement for Chronis or the commencement of the search process.
