Schuyler County Administrator Fonda Chronis has been placed on administrative leave, causing widespread speculation about the reasoning behind this decision.
He was absent from the legislature meeting on July 10. He has also been removed from Schuyler County’s website.
The county’s attorney Steven Getman offered limited insight into the situation when contacted by media, stressing that administrative leave does not imply any wrongdoing.
In Chronis’ absence, chief elected officer Carl Blowers, along with other legislators and department heads will assume his responsibilities.
