The Auburn Police Department has joined other Central New York police agencies investigating the instllation of a credit card skimming device.
The device was located at one of the check-out lanes at the Walmart in Auburn. The device appeared to be installed on July 2, but employees didn’t notice it until July 5.
The skimming device captures data and records cardholder’s information and pin data without the cardholder knowing.
Police are looking for three people who are suspected of placing the skimming device at several area Walmart stores, including the one in Auburn.
