Engineers recommend Auburn police be relocated to new building, Auburn Ambulance move into current space

After an in-depth review, engineering firm Barton & Loguidice recommended at an Auburn City Council meeting on June 8 that the Auburn Police Department relocate and the existing building be repurposed for the Auburn City Ambulance service.

The recommendation was reported on by The Auburn Citizen and followed a $369,212 contract granted to the firm in December 2022 to study the viability, code compliance, and renovation costs of the decades-old building.

The firm’s representative, Timothy Bivens, stated that the APD’s needs outpace the building’s available space and functionality, suggesting a search for an alternative location that better aligns with their programmatic requirements.
