The Rochester Americans’ amazing playoff run ended Friday night at the Blue Cross Arena with a 1-0 loss to the Hershey Bears in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference final.
Rochester, who was trying to force a decisive Game 7 on Monday, outshot Hershey 24-19 but went 0-for-4 on the power play and could not get one past Hunter Shepard, who shut out the Amerks for the second time in this best-of-seven series.
Malcolm Subban made 18 saves, including 14 over the first two periods.
Hershey moves on to the Calder Cup Final and will play the winner of the Coachella Valley Firebirds and Milwaukee Admirals series.
