A proposed solution to safety concerns at the intersection of Gananda Parkway and West Walworth Road in Walworth has hit a roadblock.
Following a series of accidents and resident complaints, an engineering study commissioned by the Wayne County Board of Supervisors recommended a roundabout as the most effective safety measure.

Initial progress was made, with three out of four required landowners giving access permission for construction, but the project is now on hold.
The remaining land parcel, owned by the Town of Walworth and classified as parkland as part of a housing development, cannot be repurposed under current town regulations. The issue, according to Wayne County Superintendent of Public Works/Highway Superintendent Kevin Rooney, can only be resolved if the Town of Walworth appeals to the State.
