On the first official day of PGA Championship week at Oak Hill Country Club all eyes were on defending champ Justin Thomas.
He might not be the favorite in the field this week, but his game is getting close- at least by his own measure.
Thomas said he played Oak Hill, in its entirety, for the first time on Monday, calling it a tough test.
If he went back-to-back he’d become the third golfer in the stroke-play era to make that happen. “I’m starting to see a little bit of a light at the end of the tunnel,” Thomas said of his game during his press conference on Monday.
He’s been utilizing AimPoint method, and while its a work in progress- Thomas says it’s getting closer. “You’ve got to practice it,” he added of the new process. “I felt like I had a good week practicing. Tried to get a little bit more accustomed to it, a little bit more fluid.”
FingerLakes1.com will be on-site of the PGA Championship the remainder of the week bringing exclusive photos, video, and coverage from the second major of the PGA Tour season.
