Indiana-based Grote Industries has announced the acquisition of Avon’s Star Headlight & Lantern Co., Inc. The deal will result in the formation of Star Safety Technologies by Grote, a holding company fully owned by Grote Industries. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
Established in 1889, Star has a long-standing reputation for supplying quality lighting products to various industries, including rail, amber light, and emergency lighting markets. Under the new ownership, Star Safety Technologies will continue supporting these markets, leveraging the combined resources and expertise of both companies to drive innovation and growth. No plans to relocate local operations have been announced.
Mike Grote, who will serve as the holding company’s general manager, praised Star’s quality, innovation, and approach to serving its markets. He expressed excitement about building upon Star’s 134-year legacy within the Jacobs family.
