Fresh off a blowout loss to Mexico, Team USA bounced back in a big way with a dominant 12-1 victory over Canada in a World Baseball Classic game that was called after 6 1/2 innings because of the tournament’s 10-run mercy rule.
Starting pitcher Lance Lynn set the tone by tossing a 1-2-3, 13-pitch top of the first inning, and the offense plated nine runs in the bottom of the frame, tying the WBC record for runs scored in an inning.
