The Skaneateles Lakers hockey team (22-3-0) captured the Division II State Title on Sunday morning with a 4-1 victory over the Pelham Pelicans at the LECOM Harborcenter in downtown Buffalo.

Skaneateles jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the opening period and cruised from there as they added another one in the second and held a three-goal lead for the entire third.
Andrew Whitlock scored twice for the Lakers and almost had a third, but it was taken off the board after a review. Henry Major and Andrew Falkenburg also found the back of the net.
Skaneateles has claimed five state titles in program history, with two coming in the last four years.
