The Skaneateles Lakers hockey team (21-3-0) edged the Salmon River Shamrocks (21-3), 3-2, on Saturday afternoon at the LECOM Harborcenter in Buffalo to advance to the New York State Division II Championship.
With the game knotted at two late in the third period, Skaneateles regained the lead on Andrew Gaglione’s power-play goal with 2:30 left in regulation, and the Lakers held on for the victory.
Skaneateles will face the Pelham Pelicans on Sunday at 11 a.m. The Lakers are looking to claim their fourth Division II title and first since 2019.
