Police say a Seneca Falls man was arrested after a shoplifting incident at a local Walmart store.

Woodrow Edwards, 53, of Seneca Falls, was arrested by the Seneca Falls Police Department on Sunday, March 5th following a complaint of shoplifting at Walmart.

Edwards allegedly pushed a cart full of merchandise through the store entrance and proceeded to pass all points of sale without rendering payment.

Police found Edwards a short time later on a traffic stop, but he fled from the vehicle. The police quickly caught up with him and arrested him. Edwards was charged with one count of petit larceny, one count of resisting arrest, and one count of obstructing governmental administration in the 2nd degree.

Edwards was processed and released on an appearance ticket. He is scheduled to appear in the Town of Seneca Falls Court at a later date to answer the charges.
