State police are investigating a fatal snow mobile crash that happened in the town of Osceola on Sunday.
A 2020 Polaris XC 137 snowmobile, operated by Dean J. Beck, 49, of Spencerport was traveling south on Potter Road snowmobile trail C5C when he failed to negotiate a sharp curve.
The snowmobile subsequently traveled off the trail, down a steep embankment, and struck a tree. Beck was ejected from the snowmobile and pronounced deceased at the scene.
State Police were assisted at the scene by the Redfield Fire Department, Lewis County Sheriff’s Office, and the Lewis County Search and Rescue.
