Frank Ryan, a candidate for the upcoming sheriff election in Yates County, has introduced his running mate, Brandon Jensen, as his Undersheriff if he wins the November vote.
Jensen is a 23-year veteran of the Yates County Sheriff’s Office and holds several positions within the department, including K9 Unit Supervisor and a certified New York K9 Trainer and Examiner. He started his career in 2000 as an Emergency Services Dispatcher and has served in the US Army as a Military Police Officer.
In a statement, Jensen said he was born and raised in Yates County, graduated from Penn Yan Academy in 1989, and is a member of local organizations. He currently resides in Benton Center with his wife and son.
Current Sheriff Ron Spike recently announced that he would not seek re-election in the fall, after serving the Sheriff’s Office since 1970 and being elected sheriff in 1992.
At present, Ryan is the only announced candidate for the Yates County Sheriff’s Office.
