State police arrested a 37-year-old man from Elmira on charges of driving while intoxicated early Wednesday morning.
According to a statement from the state police, troopers conducted a traffic stop on Interstate 86 in the Town of Chemung at around 2:14 a.m. Wednesday. While interviewing the driver, Seth E. Hatch, the trooper detected an odor of alcohol and Hatch subsequently failed standardized field sobriety testing.
Hatch was taken to the state police barracks in Horseheads, where he provided a positive breath sample. He was charged with driving while intoxicated and issued an appearance ticket to appear in Town of Chemung Court on February 9, 2023, at 1:00 p.m.
The incident remains under investigation and additional charges may be pending.
