The trial of a man accused of killing his 3-year-old stepson is set to begin in early February in Seneca County.
Donald Bovio, of Seneca Falls, faces multiple charges including second-degree murder in the May 2018 death of Panagiotis “Peter” Stephanides-Vacchino.
Bovio had pleaded guilty in 2019 and was sentenced to 15 years to life in prison, but an appeals court vacated the conviction last year.
He twice tried to withdraw his plea after professing his innocence. His wife, Alison Bovio, pleaded guilty to a manslaughter charge and was sentenced to 4-12 years in prison for her role in the case.
