The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a Lyons man following a disturbance.
Deputies arrested David Merkley, 31, of Lyons for two counts of harassment, menacing, criminal possession of a weapon, and obstruction. He was taken into custody around 10:30 p.m. on Saturday.
The charges stem from an incident earlier in the day, according to deputies, where Merkley struck a person in the face and head with a broom. He also struck them with a closed fist before fleeing the scene.
Merkley was processed and will answer the charges at a later date.
