The New York Mets have agreed to a minor league deal with Tim Locastro, according to Pat Ragazzo of Sports Illustrated. The deal includes an invititation to spring training.
Locastro is a 2010 Auburn High School graduate. He was a Yankee fan growing up and his family would travel to the Bronx to attend games at Yankee Stadium.
The 30-year-old spent last season with the Yankees, appearing in 38 games while batting .186 with a .588 OPS.
Locastro is known for his speed and has been used primarily as a pinch-runner or defensive replacement throughout his career.
