Sabres explode for six goals in third period, shutout Kings 6-0

The Buffalo Sabres exploded for six goals in the third period in a 6-0 shutout of the Los Angeles Kings on Tuesday night at KeyBank Center. With the victory, Buffalo snapped a two-game skid and improved to 13-14-2 on the season.

Tage Thompson scored his team-leading 22nd and 23rd goals of the season and collected an assist, his sixth game with three or more points this season. Victor Olofsson, JJ Peterka, Alex Tuch, and Peyton Krebs also found the back of the net, while Dylan Cozens tallied three assists.

Craig Anderson stopped all 40 shots he faced, recording his first shutout since March 26, 2019, and the 43rd of his NHL career.

Buffalo capitalized on three of their six power-play opportunities while going a perfect 3-for-3 on the penalty kill.

The Sabres will begin a three-game road trip on Thursday night when they take on the Colorado Avalanche. Puck drop is set for 9 p.m.
