The Rochester Americans (12-9-1-1) snapped a three-game skid with a 4-3 shootout victory over the Toronto Marlies (14-8-1-1) on Saturday evening at the Coca-Cola Coliseum.
Rochester trailed 3-2 late in the third period until Sean Malone tied the game with just under two minutes remaining in regulation to force overtime. After neither team scored in the extra period, Lukas Rousek netted the lone goal in the shootout, giving the Amerks a much-needed win.
Rousek and Brandon Biro also found the back of the net in regulation. Mason Jobst and Linus Weissbach tallied assists. Malcolm Subban made 23 saves, including five in overtime.
The Amerks will be back in action on Friday, December 16, when they face the Charlotte Checkers at the Bojangles Coliseum. Puck drop is slated for 7 p.m.
