The Syracuse Crunch (8-8-2-2) snapped the Rochester Americans’ (11-7-1-1) three-game win streak on Wednesday night with a 5-1 victory at the Blue Cross Arena.

Rochester opened the scoring on Brett Murray’s ninth goal of the season, but Syracuse scored five unanswered goals, including three in the third period.

Gabriel Dumont, Ryan Jones, Gabriel Fortier, Gage Goncalves, and Simon Ryfors found the back of the net for the Crunch.

Max Lagace started in net for Syracuse and played just one period, stopping nine-of-ten shots. Hugo Alnefelt played the rest of the game, turning aside all 14 shots he faced. Malcolm Subban made 23 saves for Rochester.

Both teams were unable to capitalize on their power play opportunities as the Amerks went 0-for-5, and the Crunch finished 0-for-1.

Rochester will host the Utica Comets on Friday, while Syracuse will host the Toronto Marlies.
