If you’ve been holding off on getting a REAL ID there’s news worth hearing.
The deadline to get the new ID cards was originally set for May 3rd, 2023.
The new ID would have been required to fly domestically.
Now, you’ll have until May 7th, 2025 to get a REAL ID.
The Department of Homeland Security announced the extension on Monday. They have repeatedly pushed the enforcement date back citing state licensing agencies’ inability to get new driver’s licenses out.
TSA will require REAL ID as an extra security measure once implemented.
