The Rochester Americans could not erase a two-goal third-period deficit as they fell to the Cleveland Monsters, 4-3, in the second half of a back-to-back on Saturday night at the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse.
Rochester trailed 4-2 with just over 12 minutes left in regulation when Brandon Biro sniped his second goal of the game to cut the lead to 4-3. The Amerks had a few opportunities to tie it but could not capitalize as Cleveland held on for the victory.
Sean Malone scored the other goal for Rochester, while Ethan Prow, Lukas Rousek, Chase Priskie, and Michael Mersch collected assists. Michael Houser made 22 saves, including 10 in the final period.
The Amerks will get a few days off before they host the Syracuse Crunch on Wednesday night.
