The Rochester Americans (11-6-1-1) got back in the win column on Thursday night with a 4-3 overtime victory over the Cleveland Monsters (9-6-1-2) at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse.
Rochester led 3-2 late in the third period, but Cleveland tied the game with 49 seconds left to force overtime. After it looked like neither team was going to score in overtime, Jeremey Davies snipped the game-winning goal with eight seconds remaining, his second of the night, to lift the Amerks over the Monsters in the first of back-to-back meetings.
Jiri Kulich extended his point streak to five games with a goal. Linus Weissbach netted his team-leading eighth goal of the season. Malcolm Subban turned aside 31-of-34 shots.
Rochester finished 0-for-2 on the power play and 4-for-5 on the penalty kill.
The two teams will meet again on Saturday at 7 p.m.
