Michaels in Auburn will host a grand opening this weekend.
The event takes place roughly two weeks after the store officially opened to the public. The event will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony with officials at 9 a.m., as well as demonstrations, giveaways, local food, and more.
The new Michaels location at 217 Grant Avenue offers a ‘sleek’ design, company officials said. It will also feature self-checkout, a common addition in new stores.
“We can’t wait to welcome the Auburn community to their new Michaels,” store manager Liz Sugar said in a release. “With many of our team members being local themselves, we are all thrilled to offer the best of Michaels to Auburn’s creative community of makers, teachers, small business owners and more. Everyone is welcome at our craft table.”
The store is located inside the former Bed Bath & Beyond location in Auburn.
