Representative Elise Stefanik has endorsed former President Donald Trump for the presidential bid in 2024.
Stefanik, a Republican who prevailed in Tuesday’s election, endorsed Trump despite the overall opinion from the party. Reportedly, opinions within the party believed a different front-runner should be picked for the next presidential race.
Trump has not yet shared whether he’s going to run for president in 2024, but people expect a big announcement coming on November 15, 2022. Trump previously stated there would be a special announcement being made from his Mar-a-Lago estate.
In an interview with Breitbart News, Stefanik explained her reasoning for endorsing former president Trump.
“Republican voters determine who is the leader of the Republican Party and it’s very clear President Trump is the leader of the Republican party,” she said. “What the media fails to report is that we just won the midterms and flipped the House.” Stefanik is the first member of both the House and Senate to endorse him. She went on to say that Trump would easily defeat any Republican primary challengers. She also stated that under his care, America is safer, more secure, and prosperous.
