The Jug is back on the campus of Ithaca College as the Bombers defeated the Cortland Red Dragons, 34-17, in the 63rd Cortaca Jug Game on a sunny Saturday afternoon at Yankee Stadium.
With the victory, Ithaca capped off the regular season with a 10-0 record for the first time since 1986.
The Bombers led 17-7 at the half, but Cortland would not go away quietly as they made it a three-point game early in the fourth quarter before the Red Dragons pulled away.
Ithaca quarterback A.J. Wingfield completed 18-of-20 passes for 209 yards with three touchdowns. Jake Williams, Michael Anderson, and Julien Deumaga all caught touchdown passes. Williams also carried the ball 10 times for 70 yards and a score.
Cortland quarterback Zac Boyes completed 13-of-29 passes for 117 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions. He also gained 148 yards on the ground on 15 carries. Jaden Alfanostjohn and JJ Laap scored the only touchdowns.
Ithaca will find out their opponent for the opening round of the NCAA Division III Championship during the Selection Show on Sunday at 5:30 p.m.
