A Clyde woman charged with killing her husband has accepted a plea deal. Two years after 53-year old Linda Martinez was arrested, she pleaded guilty Friday to first-degree manslaughter.
“The agreed upon sentence is 8 years in the Department of Corrections with 5 years Post Release Supervision. The defendant also waived her right to appeal,” Wayne County First Assistant District Attorney Christine Callanan told FingerLakes1.com on Monday.
Martinez was indicted on charges of second-degree murder, criminal possession of a weapon, and tampering with physical evidence.
Her husband Rafael was reported missing by family members three days before he was found dead in the Seneca River in October of 2020.
Defense Attorney Joe Damelio represented Martinez.
Sentencing is scheduled for January 5th, 2023.
