The fundraising campaign for a family impacted by a murder in the town of Waterloo is getting closer to its goal.
Started by a family friend of 33-year-old Will Waugh, the GoFundMe campaign has raised nearly $10,000.

Waugh, his wife, and kids were living in Texas, according to investigators. They were visiting for a wedding in the Waterloo area.
Waugh was shot-and-killed at a home in Waterloo shortly after an incident at a local bar.
Wayne Ellison Jr., 37, of Waterloo, and Christopher Kesterson, 36, of Phelps have been charged with second-degree murder.
Ellison made it all the way to Tampa, Florida hours after the killing. Investigators were still trying to piece together how he made it that far, so quickly.
