The Rochester Red Wings snapped a three-game skid with a 7-2 victory over the Syracuse Mets on Sunday afternoon at NBT Bank Stadium. With the win, the two teams split the six-game series.
Washington Nationals left-hander MacKenzie Gore made a rehab start with Rochester and tossed 1 2/3 shutout innings. The bullpen did a nice job as Curtis Taylor surrendered the only runs.
Harol Gonzalez started on the hill for Syracuse and gave up two runs over three innings of work.
Jake Alu homered for the Red Wings, while Andrew Stevenson, Lucius Fox, DJ Peters, Andrian Sanchez, and Jecksson Flores all had RBIs.
Jake Mangum provided all of the Mets’ offense as he crushed a two-run home run.
Both teams will get the day off on Monday. Rochester will begin a six-game series with the Lehigh Valley IronPigs on Tuesday at Frontier Field, and Syracuse will open a six-game series with the Buffalo Bisons at NBT Bank Stadium.
