Syracuse Mets bullpen blows late lead in loss to Worcester

The Syracuse Mets led the Worcester Red Sox, 3-1, after six innings, but an 11-run seventh for the Red Sox lifted Worcester to a 12-8 victory on Friday night at NBT Bank Stadium. Syracuse has dropped three of the first four games in the six-game series.

Jose Rodriguez started on the mound for the Mets and tossed five innings of one-run ball. He was in line for the win until Josh Walker, R.J. Alvarez, Bryce Montes de Oca, and Michael Otanez combined to allow 11 runs.
