NTSB releases report on Steve Barnes plane crash: Exact cause not yet known to public

New information has been released about the plane crash that killed attorney Steve Barnes and his niece.

The NTSB released a preliminary report on Wednesday about the accident that happened in October 2020.


Barnes was flying from New Hampshire to Buffalo, according to officials. The aircraft, which was piloted by Barnes, crashed in the village of Corfu, Genesee County.

According to the report, Barnes told the control tower that he lost connection with them but everything was OK.

Minutes later the plane sped up and descended quickly before starting a spiral dive.

The official cause of the crash will be released soon, but an exact date was not provided.
