A weekend of six narrated cruises will take place on the Historic Erie Canal waterway later this August.
The “Fun on the Erie Canal” event is sponsored by the Lyons Rotary and the Lyons Erie Canalway Greeters. Cruises are planned for August 26, 27 and 28.
Cruises vary in distance and duration.
One cruise on Friday is roughly three hours in duration at $20 per person. Three cruises on Saturday are two hours long and cost $15 person. Two cruises, one on Friday and one on Sunday, are five hours in duration at $70 per person.
Full capacity for each cruise is 50 passengers. Organizers said all cruises were sold out in advance for the past four years.
Cruises starting in Lyons depart from the canal dock behind the fire station at 23 Water Street. Cruises beginning in Waterloo depart from Stivers Seneca Marina at 401 Boody’s Hill Road.
There is a cash bar and lavatory on board the vessel. For more information on what’s included in each cruise, click here.
Payment for tickets can be made by cash or check to Lyons Rotary Club.
