Farmington man faces several charges after crash on Rt. 96 in Victor

The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a Farmington man following a crash that happened on Sunday around 4:30 p.m. on Route 96 in the town of Victor.

Gary Zittel, 33, of Farmington was arrested for aggravated unlicensed operation, criminal possession of a controlled substance, driving while ability impaired by drugs and alcohol, as well as following too closely.

Deputies say the charges stem from a crash, where Zittel was found to be under the influence of drugs and alcohol during the investigation.

He was evaluated by investigators and a drug recognition expert, who concluded Zittel was impaired. He provided samples of his breath and blood for forensic analysis.

The charges will be answered at a later date in local court.
