Arcadia man turns self in after stealing from place of employment

An Arcadia man was arrested after a larceny investigation at his place of employment.

According to a news release, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office arrested Michael T. Wood, 39, of Arcadia for petit larceny.

The arrest stems from an investigation into missing copper scraps in June 2022. While being employed at Silgan Containers, it is alleged that Wood took copper scraps from inside the plant out to his vehicle during his break times. He then took the scrap material to Alpco Recycling in Macedon in exchange for $699.30.

Wood turned himself in at the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office and will answer the charges before the Town of Lyons Court at a later date.
