Motorcyclist charged with felony DWI after crash in Sodus

Deputies arrested a Sodus man following a traffic stop Saturday night.

According to a news release, Nicholas Stevenson, 33, of Sodus was charged with driving while intoxicated after a personal injury crash on Ridge Road.

The crash happened around 9:30 p.m. when he rear-ended a vehicle while traveling west on Ridge Road.


He lost control of his motorcycle and crashed it.

Deputies on-scene determined that he was driving while intoxicated, and was ticketed as result.

Stevenson refused to submit a breath test, but was determined later that he was driving the motorcycle with a learner’s permit. He also had two prior DWI convictions.

Stevenson was charged with felony DWI, refusal to take a breath test, following too closely, and operating without insurance.

Stevenson was taken to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office to be processed.
