The New York Mets have made a couple of roster moves before Friday’s home game against the Miami Marlins.
The team reinstated right-hander Chris Bassitt from the 10-day injured list and optioned reliever Jake Reed to Triple-A Syracuse to make room on the 26-man roster.
Bassitt will start Friday’s game after spending a week on the injured list following a positive COVID-19 test. The right-hander owns a 4.01 ERA over 89 2/3 innings this season.
Reed had been recalled on Thursday to bolster the Mets’ bullpen. He threw two scoreless, hitless innings while striking out two.
