CONCRETE JUNGLE: Bashing Bats and the Future Arrives (podcast)

The New York baseball teams have officially entered the final stretch run before the All-Star break. The Yankees had a small two-game series split in Pittsburgh over the course of the past couple of days. Paul Russo and Kyle Evans discuss the series that saw the Yankee offense quiet on Tuesday and loud on Wednesday. The guys also talk about the continued production out of Matt Carpenter with the potential of increased opportunities looming. The Yankees have four games in Boston, and Paul and Kyle preview the series between the old rivals. The Mets took the series over Cincinnati, claiming two victories. Paul and Kyle talk about the pitching staff slowing returning to April form with Max Scherzer entering the rotation. Although the bats didn’t quite show up to help Max, it was a much-needed series for the bats. The guys talk about how the lineup could be turning a corner with mostly everyone back in the everyday lineup. The Mets host the Marlins for four games this weekend and the guys preview the series in which the Mets could face both Pablo Lopez and Sandy Alcantara.

Rochester and Syracuse are both on the road this week. Rochester is in Lehigh Valley where they have split the games so far.
