Who is eligible for the Child Tax Credit?
For the second half 0f 2022, there will be more Child Tax Credit checks for American families who need them. However, it is only available if you meet the eligibility requirements and application deadline.
In order to be considered eligible, you must be employed and have worked 120 hours between March 15, 2021 and June 30, 2021. You cannot apply without proof of this and proof that you haven’t received unemployment benefits for more than 20 weeks.
Workers who have earned more than $85,000 and haven’t worked directly with Covid patients cannot apply for the payment either. The credit is not distributed on a first come first serve basis. The deadline to apply is July 31, 2022.
