A familiar face will be returning to the Buffalo Sabres organization for the 2022-23 season.
The team announced Wednesday that they have re-signed forward Sean Malone to a one-year contract worth $750,000.
Malone notched AHL career highs in goals (20) and points (37) in 39 games with the Rochester Americans last season. He added seven points (2+5) in 10 games during Rochester’s playoff run.
The 27-year-old also served as an alternate captain for the Amerks last season.
Malone was drafted by Buffalo in the sixth round of the 2013 NHL Draft. He skated in one game with the Sabres and 169 games with the Amerks during his first stint with the organization from 2017 to 2020.
