NYCGPA, the Cannabis Industry Trade Association in New York, coming to Chemung County for first event in Elmira Heights

The Southern Tier Regional Committee of New York Cannabis Growers and Processors Association (NYCGPA) is pleased to invite all interested members of the general public to the association meeting being held on Tuesday, June 28, 6:00 pm at 360Aurora, 360 East 14th Street, Elmira Heights, NY. This event is free and open to all.

Members of the press/media are welcome and encouraged to attend. Association leadership will be available before and after the event.

The New York State Cannabis Growers and Processors Association (NYCGPA) is the New York cannabis industry trade association representing growers, processors, retailers, distributors, prospective license-holders, sponsors, and other stakeholders to ensure the legal cannabis industry in New York is one which benefits NYS stakeholder businesses specifically, and small and midscale operators more broadly.

NYCGPA Southern Tier Committee Chair, Brian Batrowny, says it is critical for the association to build a presence in the Southern Tier region. “We have so many great entrepreneurs in this part of the state. Between the startup ecosystem, University resources, existing facilities and land, there is no doubt that some of the best cannabis companies in the country will come from this region. Our goal, as an association, is to be the network and resource provider to help make that happen,” he said.

With June 28th marking the first time the committee has met in Chemung County, Batrowny says the focus of the evening is networking and meeting other industry participants in the region. “These first few meetings are really about getting to know each other and creating a place for industry stakeholders to network. That sort of central hub is going to be essential for our region,” he added.

Each month will feature a presentation from a different industry professional and service provider. Examples include; Insurance providers, Accounting and Legal Firms, Security and Financial services, current Adult-Use license holders and more.  Immediately following, there will be an opportunity for networking and meeting other potential industry entrants, professionals and stakeholders.

Damien Cornwell, who serves as vice-chair of NYCGPA’s Southern Tier Committee, says the night promises to be informative. “We’re looking forward to delivering on our promise of providing relevant education to an industry that is gaining momentum at leaps and bounds,” he said.

This event is open to the general public and there is no cost to attend. To sign up, visit here.
