Rochester Red Wings drop seventh straight with loss to SWB RailRiders

The Rochester Red Wings were unable to snap their losing skid on Tuesday night as they were blanked by the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders, 7-0, in the series opener at PNC Field. Rochester has now lost seven consecutive games.

Sterling Sharp started on the mound for the Red Wings and tossed five innings of one-run ball while striking out five. The bullpen struggled as Matt Brill allowed four runs, and Luis Avilán surrendered a pair of runs. Matt Cronin had the only scoreless outing for Rochester.

The Red Wings could not get anything going offensively as they had just five hits, with two of them coming from Andrew Stevenson. Joey Meneses, Jake Noll, and Josh Palacios had the other hits.

Rochester will send Logan Verrett to the mound on Wednesday as they will try to avoid an eighth straight loss. The first pitch is slated for 6:35 p.m.
