Police arrested an adolescent offender following an incident in Penn Yan.
A 16-year-old was charged with first-degree criminal contempt, endangering the welfare of a child, and harassment after striking a 13-year-old in the head.
By doing so, the 16-year-old violated a court order.
He was arraigned and will answer the charges at a later date.
Due to age, the 16-year-old was not identified.
