Yankees four-game win streak snapped with loss to Rays

The New York Yankees had their four-game win streak snapped on Saturday evening with a 3-1 loss to the Tampa Bay Rays at Tropicana Field.

New York jumped out to a 1-0 in the first inning on Anthony Rizzo’s sacrifice fly, but after that, the offense just could not get anything going. DJ LeMahieu, who returned to the lineup after missing four games, had one of the Yankees’ four hits.

Gerrit Cole allowed a run over six innings while striking out 10. Lucas Luetge and Michael King allowed a run in relief.

Tampa Bay scored one run in the sixth, one in the seventh, and one in the eighth.

The Yankees will try to bounce back on Sunday afternoon with Luis Severino on the bump. The first pitch is slated for 1:40 p.m.
