There are stimulus payments worth hundreds or thousands available to some Americans if they apply in time before the deadline.
The Department of Health and Human Services in New Hampshire has already sent over 300 young adults stimulus payments
The Consolidated Appropriations Act is investing $400 million to Americans in the foster care system as they transition to adulthood.
The program is handled by a non-profit organization called Waypoint and the Division for Youth and Families.
Eligibility for this special stimulus payment
In order to be eligible, you must meet certain criteria.
You need to be a person who was in foster care through DCYF.
You must be between the ages of 16 and 22.
Anyone who thinks they’re eligible can apply through the Waypoint online portal.
Surprise payments worth up to $1,200
Personal information and foster care history will be asked.
The deadline is Sept. 30.
Payments will range from $500 to $2,500.
