Thousands of Americans could soon see stimulus checks worth $1,400, but the applications close in two weeks in the state of Iowa.
Applicants are selected at random through a lottery system to receive the stimulus checks.
The funding for the program is coming from the American Rescue Plan Act.
$29.3 million has been set aside for the stimulus program.

Residents can submit one application.
They must prove they are low to moderate income recipients.
They must also show they suffered hardship from COVID-19.
Applicants must be 18 or older.
They need to have lived in Johnson County since at least March 1, 2020.
Documents should be prepared before applying.
Documents necessary will show identity, residence and income.
If you need help, the county is offering in person workshops on May 5 and May 13.
