Rochester Red Wings hand SWB RailRiders second straight shutout loss

The Rochester Red Wings blanked the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders, 2-0, on Thursday night at Frontier Field for the second straight game.

Right-hander Jackson Tetreault got the start for Rochester and fired 5.2 scoreless innings while allowing just three hits and striking out four. He earned his first win of the season with that strong performance.

The bullpen did an outstanding job as well. Sam Clay, Patrick Murphy, Alberto Baldonado, Reed Garrett, and Carl Edwards Jr. combined for 3.1 shutout innings.

Rochester’s first run of the game came in the first inning when Luis Garcia blasted his sixth home run of the season over the right-field wall.

Jake Noll made it 2-0 in the fourth with a sacrifice fly to center.

The Red Wings had just five hits and Garcia collected two of them.

Rochester will try to take the first three games of the six-game series on Friday night. The first pitch is slated for 6:05 p.m.
