Police say a Sodus man was arrested following a fraud complaint.
According to a news release, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office arrested Sheldon Fish, 49, of Sodus for welfare fraud, petit larceny, and offering a false instrument for filing.
It is alleged that Fish was a recipient of SNAP benefits and failed to report income that his wife was earning. As a result, he received over $800.00 in benefits that he was not entitled to.
Fish is due to appear in the Town of Lyons Court at a later date.
