Stimulus: Some Americans could see $2,000 to help offset cost of living

There are millions of Americans in one state who may soon see a stimulus payment worth $2,000 thanks to inflation.

Pennsylvania Governor, Tom Wolf, has stated he wants to use $500 million from the American Rescue Plan to help families as prices increase.

Eligibility requirements include qualifying households make $80,000 or less.

Wolf stated that with the cost of groceries and gas rising, this could help residents who are living paycheck to paycheck.

Pennsylvania’s current price per gallon of gas is $4.17.

Food costs have risen 1% in March and 8.8% for the last year.


Some Americans eligible for $1,400 payment

$2 billion dollars still need to be committed that were given to the state before it’s taken back.

This proposal is part of a $1.7 billion dollar package.

The package includes $225 million for small businesses and $300 million for the healthcare system.

If the money is not committed by Dec. of 2024, the federal government will take it back.
